Sunrise from the Roof Deck

I decided to explore our building’s roof deck to check out the view. As expected, it was an expansive experience – far more so than from the balcony. My goal was to go up early in the morning and check out the sunrise. In the meantime, I could not help but take heaps of photos of the city view.

I’ve had high-rise views from corporate buildings but now I can enjoy the same type of view from our building’s roof deck. Of course, it is not as satisfying as seeing a natural landscape like a mountain or river, or the rolling clouds from the top of the mountain. However, the unobstructed view of the sky is a sight that I have missed for such a long time. Seeing the sky in my old place was not possible at all; so this was a treat.

The view of the city is chaotic; like a lego play set that is yet to be assembled. The structures and buildings also reminds me of the chips on a computer’s motherboard. Everything seems chaotic; but against the view of the sky, the feeling that everything will be right prevails.

I wish I could see the night sky with stars too but the city smog makes this difficult. I’m just glad that I am still able to see the full moon and bright stars on a clear night. I’m grateful that I can still see and be welcomed by the sun rise every morning. It has been a pleasant wake-up alarm for me every day now.

Finally, the sun makes its golden rays felt and seen. The sky looked like it was slowly catching on fire. It was an amazing experience to see the sunlight peeking through dense, fluffy clouds. And as the sun spread its pleasant warmth, reducing the bite of the chilly morning air, I felt blessed.

I felt like the sun itself was blessing the whole city, the whole planet. And I am grateful once again for having the chance to start anew and to continue enjoying what the rest of this life has to offer.
