Sweet & Relaxing Self-Care Essentials from Thea Botanicals PH

I am always looking for personal care and beauty products that have natural ingredients and less chemicals. Not only do I feel safe using them but they are also quite effective in their intended results. I also make it a point to support local brands and one of my favorites is Thea Botanicals PH.

My first encounter with their products was in a Christmas bazaar some years ago. I was delighted that their products are handmade and I have been looking forward to ordering more ever since.

This time, my latest order is one that I purchased to pamper myself for the holidays. I had just gotten through a stressful period and wanted to give myself a “self care” or “self love” session and I needed personal care products that not only smell good but can help make me feel good too. I thought of Thea Botanicals PH instantly.

I ordered one of their holiday gift items: Castile Liquid Soap and Ginger Peppercorn Warming Massage Balm. For the liquid soap, I choose 2 scents: Rosewater & Lemon and Sweet Salvation. The order was easily made and it arrived fast. When the order arrived, not only did I get a personal note, but also an Aloe Vera Bastille Soap made with 70% olive oil as a freebie, in the shape of Hello Kitty’s face.

The products arrived well-packaged and I got to using them immediately the same day. Both the liquid castile soaps smelled warm and comforting but not too overpowering. I usually use the Sweet Salvation for mornings when I want to feel refreshed and energized as it smells sweeter but not too heavy. I use the Rose & Lemon at night because it’s more subtle and herby scent helps me relax and wash away the day’s worries and stress.

Each of the castile liquid soaps is so easy and a treat to use. I personally love that it doesn’t foam too much when used with my net foam and it glides easily on the skin without feeling greasy. It also washes off easily but leaves your skin moisturized with the subtle fragrance of rose & lemon or sweet salvation.

Initially, I found it hard to figure out how to open the bottle’s nozzle to dispense the product. Since it came in an amber color with a black lid, I couldn’t see the arrows for which way to turn to open. I think this is standard for bottles for this type of product, so I guess it’s really my fault. This is just a minor issue for me that didn’t ruin my experience at all.

I use the Aloe Vera Bastille Soap on days when I just need to get a quick shower and immediately focus on the day’s tasks. This was a fun way to get the moisturizing and freshening up I need when I’m in a rush. Since it’s unscented, I can also layer up on the scent I want to set my mood for the day.

On nights when I feel a bit too cold and I want to ease away my body aches and pains; I give myself a relaxing massage using the Warming Massage Balm to relax my muscles while moisturizing my skin. It’s such a calming experience that really helps me feel calm and ready for a good night’s sleep. Even my cuticles feel moisturized after using this so I don’t even need to wipe off anything after the massage since it’s not too greasy.

I plan to order the same set or maybe another one for gifting since the holiday season is fast approaching. Spending on something comforting but luxurious may sound like it’s going to be expensive but not with local products like Thea Botanicals PH. It’s a more inexpensive way to treat your self and your loved ones to something that feels luxurious but is still healthy since it’s made from natural ingredients and is even handmade.

I personally love handmade gifts but if you don’t have the time to create them, then the next best thing is to buy from someone who creates their products with the same love and care that you would put into your own gift items. Plus, you are supporting a local brand and the livelihood of the team and community behind the brand.

To order, you can message them directly on the Thea Botanicals FB page or on their IG.
