Going to the mall is a very popular past time especially this holiday season. So it’s inevitable that Christmas tree and Christmas decor sightings are part of the experience. I went to another mall to check out the holiday decors there and what I saw really made me feel that Christmas is officially in the air.
A giant Christmas tree seemed to have appeared overnight because this was not here a few days ago when I visited. Aside from that, there were also giant gift boxes hanging from the ceiling and scattered on the ground. The gifts boxes on the ground were actually the kiosks for the bazaar happening in the activity area.

I took the photo from the mall’s 2nd floor so I went down to check out the tree from the ground and it was indeed huge. It spanned all 4 floors of the mall and almost touched the last floor’s high ceiling. It really dwarfed the people and the bazaar kiosks around it. It made one feel like they were outdoors because of the skylight too. This was very convenient for shoppers especially since it’s been raining most days of the week.

As we navigated the minefield of temptation that is the Christmas bazaar; we did diligently kept our wits and our discipline to stick to our budget. There were some sparks of indulgence and moments of succumbing to temptation but merely to admire and inquire, just to pique our interest, but not really to buy if we didn’t need it. So we are glad to have successfully survived this holiday battlefield with our self-control and our budget still intact.

One notable feature was the entrance to the mall, which had its own cozy decor while smaller versions of the giant Christmas tree were scattered all over the alleys and corners of the mall. The trees at the entrance were very outdoorsy with green Christmas trees adorned with only small, warm lights. It really gave one a refreshing feeling which was very inviting and still hinted at the festive vibe of the season.

So in this mall, while the outdoor decor theme is just green and refreshing, even cool but when you go inside, all the decors make you feel warm, cozy, and festive. It’s visually building up your excitement. A very nice transition of atmosphere for mall goers who are looking forward to enjoying the holiday vibe.
There will be many more malls to visit with their own decor themes for the holidays so I’m looking forward to visiting them too. Seeing the decors is not my primary mission though. It’s just that different malls offer different shops and items that you can’ find in other malls so we go there for that specific store or service.
I’m sure all of them will make shoppers feel the holiday spirit while they go around. So it’s up to shoppers to wisely manage their budget and not be tempted to make excessive purchases.
