We all have our own struggles in life but we also have small wins. We often forget to celebrate these small wins because we are focused on the big milestones. But they need to be celebrated too. It’s a pat on the back that tells us we have done well and we are making progress. Not everything is perfect, not yet, but we are getting there, slowly but surely.
For friends who struggle with catching up because of adulting goals; it is just right to celebrate short meetups by trying out something new. Of course, we still went to eat a meal at our favorite place and then decided to get our milk tea at the newly opened branch of Chagee. We we’re curious what the hype was all about.

It was quite early in the day so there were not too many people inside the cafe. However, the line for ordering was starting to get long so we lined up as soon as we arrived. We went for their most popular BO•YA Jasmine Green Milk Tea. We wanted something light but not too sweet and this surprisingly fit the bill.
Compared to the usual milk tea’s in popular cafe brands, indeed their flavors can be considered more oriental – subtle fragrance and flavor and options for your preferred sugar levels. I naturally choose just 50% sugar level and I was glad I did. The reduced sweetness did not take away from the overall quality of the milk tea at all. I even enhanced the jasmine fragrance and flavor with a hint of green tea still coming through.

The milk tea was delicious – fragrant and not too sweet. I appreciated that it wasn’t too cold as well and sipping it from the small, triple-sip straw was a smooth experience. I had never really thought about the fragrance of milk tea’s. I just usually assume they would smell and taste mostly milky, but this one didn’t taste or smell too milky and you can still distinctively appreciate the jasmine fragrance and flavor. I think I prefer this lighter version than sweeter fruit teas.
We both ordered the same thing so I think that’s why they provided us the free eco bag. Or maybe it was because it was part of their opening activities.

Of course, we were also attracted by their cafe’s decor and the elegant-looking packaging too. Aside from looking pretty, we were glad that their bag was also reusable for other cold drinks or even food. It wasn’t made of paper but of plastic which makes it more durable for carrying your bento to your office.
Will try to visit here again and order some of their other milk tea options and chill in their pretty cafe with a cute, relaxing vibe. It would be great to catch up on life as we slowly sip our drinks, reminisce, celebrate small and big wins, or just to take a breather, and make new memories.
